"Dark Arc", director Dan Zukovic's latest feature, to premiere at Montreal World Film Festival 2004
Dark Arc written and directed by Dan Zukovic will have its world premiere as part of the Montreal World Film Festivals 2004 PANORAMA CANADA series. Dark Arc is Produced by Jeremy Dyson and Brendan Keown of Third Tribe Productions and Dave Barnett and Mitch Mayer of Dark Arc Productions.
The feature film stars Dan Zukovic, Sarah Strange, and Kurt Max Runte, and is Vancouver-born director Dan Zukovic's second feature comedy. Zukovic's previous film The Last Big Thing was a festival hit upon its release in 1998 and gathered an enthusiastic following due to a series of successful broadcasts on SHOWTIME, the SUNDANCE CHANNEL, and the MOVIE CHANNEL.
An art-house comedy, Dark Arc tells the story of Viscount Laris, a modern-day eccentric obsessed by the power of art and visual experience to mold the behavior and emotional responses of his victims. With his complicit female muse, Juxta, he orchestrates an elaborate series of 'visual events' conceived and executed for the sole purpose of destabilizing the life of ordinary, down-to-earth graphic designer Ed Smith. As Viscount's visual experiments escalate his manipulations begin to take on the cruel and sinister overtones that will draw all three characters towards the films fateful climax.
Dark Arc is written and directed by Dan Zukovic and is Zukovic's second feature comedy. Starring Sarah Strange (Davinci's Inquest, ReGenesis) and Kurt Max Runte (Little War). Producers are Jeremy Dyson and Brendan Keown (Hitler Meets Christ), and Dave Barnett and Mitch Mayer (The Last Big Thing). Geoff Denham is Director of Photography (Henry's Café).
The Montreal World Film Festival's 28th edition runs from August 26 to September 6.
